Principal’s Latest Message

Hello students, parents and carers

ºìÌÒÊÓƵ sits on the land of the Bunurong people, and I would like to begin by acknowledging them as the traditional owners of the land and pay my respect to their elders past and present.

I hope you have all had a very enjoyable and relaxing term break and I am looking forward to a busy and productive Term Three.

Even at this time of the year we have a number of new students and staff joining our ºìÌÒÊÓƵ community, I would like to extend them all a very warm welcome and I am sure they will enjoy their time as part of our community.

There are many events happening this term, most significantly the Year 12 students finishing their classes on Wednesday 18th October and having their Celebration Day the next day. They then have their Graduation Ceremony on Friday 17th November at Monash University. In between the Celebration Day and the Graduation Ceremony will of course be the VCE Unit 3 & 4 Exams – which are always a challenging time for our students.

On Tuesday 20th November we will be celebrating the accomplishments of Year 7 -11 students at our Presentation Evening – always a wonderful event.

As you are aware I have announced that I will be retiring at the end of this year. The process to select a new College Principal has begun and is being overseen by the school’s Senior Education Improvement Leader Mr Kenneth Robinson. A representative of the parents on school council has been elected to serve on the selection panel as has a staff representative. The process is expected to take around six weeks to complete.

As usual we will be publishing our newsletter twice a term so if you are a not-for-profit community group or a local sport team looking for members, please feel welcome to advertise in our newsletter.

Thank you.

John Baston
College Principal
